What Is the Illinois 5% Tax Credit Uplift?
As of April 2026, Illinois is the first state in the nation offering a tax incentive to promote sustainable film production. This 5% credit is available to qualifying television and film productions that meet sustainability certification requirements set by The Illinois Film Office (IFO) and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) as a “certified green production."
