Outdoor Farm
The Urban Canopy Outdoor Farm (“oFarm”) is a commercial food production farm on an acre of land in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood of Chicago. We grow diversified vegetables, herbs, and flowers in raised beds using biointensive practices to maximize yields on a small footprint.
How We Grow
At the outdoor farm our growing methods are guided by organic standards and sustainable practices including crop rotation, occultation, amending beds with compost, and companion planting.
All crops are grown in raised beds and watered by drip irrigation lines to conserve water.
Indoor Farm
The Urban Canopy Indoor Farm allows us to grow year round in a controlled environment. We primarily grow wheatgrass but have also grown a variety of microgreens. Wheatgrass is juiced and taken in 1-2 ounce shots with high concentrations of antioxidants, Vitamin A, C, and E, iron, calcium, magnesium, amino acids, and chlorophyll. Our wheatgrass shots can be found at our farmers market stands, juice bars throughout Chicago, and in bottled juices.
