In celebration of Earth Week- Compost Club will donate $10 for every new sign-up to the Little Village Environmental Organization (now through May 23rd 2024)
What you do:
Add your food scraps and other compostables to the Compost Club bucket!
Leave your bucket in the designated location on pickup days.
Retrieve your swapped out bucket by 5pm.
What we do:
Remind you the day before your pickup dates via email and text.
Swap out your Compost Club bucket with a freshly cleaned one.
The contents of your bucket is delivered to a local commercial composting facility and made back into Healthy Soil Compost within weeks!
We also offer yard waste, Holiday/Christmas Tree & pumpkin compost pick-ups!

Outside of our service zone? We encourage you to still fill out our sign-up form at the bottom of the page and/or email compost@theurbancanopy.org. When enough people have expressed interest in an area, we’ll expand our delivery boundaries!

Compost Club’s restaurant reward for this month is Lao Peng You! Members can order their reward gift cards through their customer portal shop. Get yourself some delicious dumplings and know that your patronizing a business doing their part to fight food waste by composting with us!

If you live in a high rise, we’d suggest your buckets are exchanged in one of the following locations: 1) With front desk 2) In a mail room 3) In front of your unit door (only if former locations are not allowed). Please check in with your building to see what they are most comfortable with!
We do not offer discounts when multiple people sign up for the residential service at the same location. However, If you would like to share a 35 gallon bin with your neighbors, please sign up for our Commercial Compost Club. Sharing these larger bins will save you some cash.
If you want to skip a pickup because your bucket isn’t full or you’re out of town, no problem! Notify us by 3PM the day before and we will take you off the route and credit you for the skipped stop. You can also login to your Member Portal to skip your stop as late as midnight the evening before.
Every time we stop by your residence, you will be charged regular price. The most expensive part of running the service is paying our crew members above minimum wage to swing by your residence. Each pickup, drop off or exchange must be paid for.
Residential members are charged monthly for their service fee, via the Stripe subscription. Secure payment methods include Credit/Debit Cards or direct bank transfer. Payments are automatically charged on the same day each month.
If you need to end your pickup service, please let us know as soon as possible! We will stop by one last time to pickup any remaining buckets or bucket locks you may have. You are responsible for paying for this last pickup.
We do not accept compostable diapers because we cannot accept human waste of any kind.

You can pick up and drop off your compost bucket outside our warehouse location for $8 per bucket swap. Buckets are locked outside with a one-time code, accessible 24/7. Email us at compost@theurbancanopy.org for more information or please order from our online shop by 3pm on Monday in order to swap a bucket that week.

Our Farmers Markets also allow you to compost! Market customers can pick up a compost club bucket at any of our markets for $5/bucket and drop it off when it gets full.
Please note, we can accept your own 5-gallon bucket for $5 but you will not get it back.
