Healthy Soil Finished Compost

Healthy Soil Compost comes from food scraps and plant-based waste from our Compost Club contributors in neighborhood homes, restaurants, schools, and offices. We keep it all from going into landfills and turn it into premium compost for Chicago growers.

The food-scraps and seasonal compostables collected through Compost Club are processed here in Chicago and used to grow local food and improve local soil health. This is a Chicago-made garden compost product, no such products available now. Similar compost products are coming from outside the county or state.

This finished compost is annually certified by the US Composting Council and is packed with nutrients for use in all gardening purposes. The green bucket can be used year-round and will keep the compost fresh and stable.Customers can return the bucket to the store for a $5 deposit refund–or they can start using it to collect scrap and sign up for our pickup program.
